PROVIDER PROFILE / US-RESIDENT PREDICTION PRODUCT

Coinbase: prediction markets guide

Coinbase publishes an introduction and a buying-and-selling guide for prediction markets. Its help material says the product is available to US residents only.

THE GUIDE
↳ PROVIDER PROFILE / US-RESIDENT PREDICTION PRODUCT

Coinbase’s help centre explains prediction markets as contracts about real-world outcomes and provides steps for buying and selling in its product. It is a recognisable brand for UK crypto readers, which is exactly why the product-specific geographic rule matters: a UK Coinbase account is not evidence that its prediction product is open to UK residents.

What Coinbase says about access

Its buying-and-selling help page says prediction markets are available to US residents only, with a Nevada exception at the time reviewed. The same page describes residency and account conditions. This is an operator statement; check the live page before relying on it. Do not try to work around location or identity restrictions.

Keep product types separate

Coinbase’s crypto services and its event contracts are not one interchangeable category. A reader considering tax or protections needs to identify the actual activity and any associated asset transfers. See the UK tax guide for why the label alone cannot answer those questions.

For other services and the comparison criteria, return to the provider directory. For the UK regulatory distinction, read UK rules and eligibility.

Good questions

Frequently asked

01Is Coinbase available for UK prediction-market users?

Official help says US residents only. Always check the current terms of the exact product, not just the brand’s general presence.

02What does the Coinbase guide cover?

It explains the operator-described product and the UK availability evidence we could establish at the review date. It is not a firsthand review or an endorsement.
