Smarkets presents two related products on its about page: the Smarkets exchange and SBK, an app drawing prices from the exchange in a sportsbook-style interface. That distinction is useful. A familiar app screen can sit on top of exchange pricing, but the interface alone tells you little about depth, rules or eligibility.
What the operator describes
The exchange is designed for participants to take views on outcomes through market prices. Smarkets itself uses the phrase “prediction market platform” in its description. That is the operator’s characterisation; it does not mean that every event-contract product described in US coverage is offered in its UK catalogue. Review each event and settlement rule on the service rather than inferring coverage from a category name.
Questions worth checking
